Der Windows DVD Maker steht unter allen Windows 7-Versionen außer der „Starter“-Variante zur Verfügung. Das Programm startet nach einem Mausklick auf den „Start“-Knopf über die Auswahl „Alle Programme“ und den Eintrag „Windows DVD Maker“.
Filme einfügen

Zum Ändern der Abspielreihenfolge der Video-Clips für die DVD zieht man den entsprechenden Dateieintrag auf die gewünschte Position auf der Abspielliste. Alternativ finden Filme durch Auswahl und anschließenden Klick auf die Pfeiltasten in der Menüzeile einen neuen Platz in der Abspielliste.
Am unteren Bildrand gestattet der Eintrag „DVD-Titel“ die Eingabe eines Namens für die neue DVD. Nach einem Klick auf die Schaltfläche „Weiter“ öffnet Windows DVD Maker den Assistenten zum Gestalten des DVD-Menüs.
